Morrisville, Vt - Farmers who direct market their locally raised food and farm products need to connect with potential customers. Consumers want to connect with the folks raising their food. The Agency of Agriculture is conducting a seminar to help farmers and others in the farm community learn methods to promote their products and services.
Recognizing that many farmers, or those who work in the farm community, may not know all of their options for reaching potential customers, getting the word out about their products or announcing events and activities, this seminar will introduce you to outlets and processes that can help your business or organization.
Topics that will be covered include:
- How to write an effective press release and media advisory, as well as when to use these tools and how to use most effectively.
- How to connect with media outlets.
- Tips on interacting with media representatives.
- Tips on connecting with the community and promoting directly to customers.
- Ways to brand your products.
- How to use community events and sponsorships for promotion.
- Ways to utilize the web for promotional purposes.
The seminar will be conducted by Kelly Loftus and Koi Boynton from the Agency of Agriculture. Kelly and Koi have many years of experience in marketing, communications, advertising and promotion and are excited to help farmers get the word out about their wonderful local products. Handouts will also be available as well as time for questions and answers. A donation of $5 is requested.
