This holiday season, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture will welcome visitors to Vermont with a re-creation of the State House - made with candies from Vermont businesses. The edible, gingerbread State House will join the displays at the Guilford Welcome Center on December 4th and remain there until early January.

“It’s a fun way to keep visitors thinking about Vermont foods all year round,” says Helen Labun Jordan, agricultural development coordinator at the Agency of Agriculture. The gingerbread building highlights specialty food and maple products in particular, but also provide visitors with information on the range of wintertime food and farm activities in Vermont.

The Gingerbread State House will be on display in the Agency of Agriculture conference room on the afternoon of December 3rd following the actual State House tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. It will then make its way to the Guilford Welcome Center, Tuesday, December 4, 2007.

Thank you to all who contributed to the decorations of the gingerbread State House:
