Renewable Energy on the Farm - Renewable Attributes

The sale of Renewable Attributes is a way to monetize the environmental benefits that a project produces. Below is a list of companies that purchase attributes from projects. Some only deal with those related to electrical generation while others look at the broader carbon trading market. Below is a list of companies we know are trading in Vermont for areas related to renewable energy on farms.

  • Central Vermont Public Service Corporation (CVPS) – CVPS Cow Power has a program where they will pay a benefit based on a per kilowatt hour basis. For more information contact David Dunn (802) 747-5681 or see: http://www.cvps.com/cowpower/
  • Green Mountain Power Corporation (GMP) – GMP has a program to buy the renewable energy credits from farm projects For more information contact Don Lorraine (888) 835-4672 ext. 8531
