Vermontica: Vermont's Dairy Spokescalf FAQ's

What the Event Manager can expect from the Agency of Agriculture:
Coordination and scheduling of the Vermontica appearance. One box of Vermontica coloring books, sponsored by the Vermont Dairy Promotion Council.

What the Agency of Agriculture can expect from the Event Manager:
That Vermontica be displayed in a prominent area with shade and protection from rain. That when possible the Vermontica exhibit be located near dairy food vendors. When this is not feasible, that dairy food samples be made available to the public. This program is being funded by Vermont Dairy Promotion Council, directly supported by our Vermont dairy farmers. Mentioning Vermontica in your promotional material will help publicize your event, as well as help sell more dairy products for Vermont farmers. Free access to your event is expected so that a Agency of Agriculture official can inspect and observe Vermontica’s impact on your audience.

What the Event Manager can expect from the Vermontica Farm Sponsor:
A calf with a gentle disposition transported to your event. A person to attend to this calf and answer farm related questions for up to three hours.

What the Vermontica Farm Sponsor can expect from the Event Manager:
A place with adequate shelter from sun or rain to display the calf. A supply of fresh water. A place to keep the animal when requesting a multiple day appearance. When possible, mention the farm sponsor in publicity and promotion.

What the Farm Sponsor can expect from the Agency of Agriculture:
Information on the event, where to go, whom to see. $100.00 per day for transporting a calf to an event and providing an attendant. A corral, if you do not have one of your own.

What the Agency of Agriculture can expect from the Farm Sponsor:
A calf transported to the scheduled event. She should have a gentle disposition; she does not need to be registered. To provide a person to attend to "Vermontica" who has knowledge of dairy farming. To provide feed and bedding. To clean up the area following the event. To return a completed invoice, provided by the Agency of Agriculture to receive payment.
