Risk has always been a part of agriculture. But changes in the risk environment and tools available to manage risk mean an increased need for risk management education.

Federally subsidized crop insurance programs have changed dramatically. One area the program will focus on will be to increase Vermont farmers’ understanding of and participation in crop insurance programs as a production risk tool.
