The following basic rules govern the qualifications for participation in Vermont’s Young Agriculture Ambassador Contest:

1. All applicants must be sponsored by a Vermont agricultural organization. A maximum of two applicants may be sponsored by each organization.
2. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and not more than 22 years of age by contest date.
3. Applicants must present a statement, signed by parent or guardian, allowing candidate to enter contest and consenting to the use of photographic releases for publicity purposes.
4. Vermont’s Young Agriculture Ambassador will be representing Vermont Agriculture in promotion and publicity, and will be expected to be available for a reasonable number of appearances.
5. Vermont’s Young Agriculture Ambassador will be selected by a panel of judges and honored at the annual Vermont Farm Show on Wednesday, January 30, 2007.
6. Each contestant will receive a check for $50 with an additional $100 to the winner.
