Changes to the Vermont Regulations for the Control of Pesticides are being proposed. Current regulations have been in effect since 1991. This draft is being made available to the public as part of the Department's communication strategy for the promulgation of regulations. The proposed regulations available here are DRAFT regulations only. These changes have not been formally filed with the Secretary of States office but are available for public review and comment. Proposed regulations are underlined. Proposed deletions are struck out.

Proposed changes to the regulations include:

New requirements for the permitting of aerial pesticide applications

New requirements for the posting of treated indoor, public areas

The addition of a worker protection standard trainer category of certified applicator

Record keeping requirements for the Worker Protection Standard

Language changes to the sign used for posting outdoor applications of pesticides

Changes to record keeping requirements for certified applicators

Additional requirements for invoices provided to customers

Changes to standards of operation relating to the application of pesticides

This is not a complete list of changes. Many language/housekeeping changes are being proposed as well. It is hoped that interested parties will review these proposed changes and make comments to the Department so that a final draft proposal may be formally filed in February, 2001.

All questions and comments should be forwarded to:
