VT Emerald Ash Borer Purple Trap Survey
Agrilus planipennis

A collaborative effort between the VT Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, VT Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation and USDA-APHIS-PPQ

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture is placing over 480 purple traps throughout the state to search for the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). Although this invasive pest is not known to be in VT, these large, sticky purple traps will detect them if they are. The traps use a non-toxic aromatic oil as an attractant and it is not harmful to humans, pets or wildlife... but the outside surface is VERY sticky. We are asking for your cooperation in ensuring that these traps are not disturbed or damaged during the trapping season which will last from May to September.
